
Purwakarta, 21 February 2026 — The Institute of Democracy and Education (IDE) Indonesia organized an Iftar gathering with madrasa students and orphans to strengthen the values of humanity, togetherness, and brotherhood during the holy month of Ramadan. The event, themed “Iftar for Friendship: Building Peace and Harmony,” was held at Yayasan Pendidikan Hidayatul Islam Selaawi in Pasawahan, Purwakarta, West Java.
The event was attended by IDE Indonesia Founder Dr. Gugun Gumilar; the Ambassador of Palestine to Indonesia, Abdalfattah A.K. Alsattari; the Ambassador of Belarus, Raman Ramanouski; and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Abdirrokhman Omonkulov. Also present were the Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of Persatuan Ummat Islam (PUI), Raizal Arifin, accompanied by the Vice Chairman of DPP PUI, Irfan Ahmad Fauzi.
On the occasion, each ambassador delivered introductory remarks, conveyed Ramadan Mubarak greetings, and introduced their respective countries to the audience. The Palestinian Ambassador, in particular, called on all participants to continue praying for the people of Palestine, especially in Gaza, and condemned the various attacks and mass killings of civilians and children.
The Chairman of DPP PUI expressed appreciation for the event, describing it as warm, familial, and rich in humanitarian values. He also conveyed prayers and support for the Palestinian people while introducing Persatuan Ummat Islam to the ambassadors. In his remarks, he expressed hope that the meeting would be followed up with further visits and cooperation with each of the friendly nations’ representatives.
This iftar gathering served as an important momentum to strengthen cross-national humanitarian solidarity, enhance international friendship, and reaffirm the message of peace embodied in Ramadan for all humanity.
